Founder, Owner & Program Director



Ian is the founder and owner of The Overlook and also the Program Director. He runs daily operations at the house and takes an active role as a recovery coach to help residents on their path to recovery. He draws from his personal experiences overcoming addiction to help residents create their own balanced plan of recovery. While Ian found sobriety through a combination of holistic practices and a 12-step program, he supports all pathways to recovery. He is a passionate and active participant in the recovery community and tries to give back wherever he can. Prior to founding The Overlook, Ian worked in financial services for over 20 years helping businesses grow and streamline their practices. Ian graduated from Tabor Academy and Middlebury College and received his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from Babson College. He is also a CCAR trained recovery coach. He has four awesome children who light up his life every day!

Dave Jensen
David A. Jensen

Program Manager, Business Development



Dave‘s primary role is to work with residents as a Program Manager at The Overlook.  He also focuses on community outreach and building strategic business relationships. In recovery, Dave has spent the past decade giving selflessly to countless charity efforts and making a positive difference in many people’s lives.  Also a trained CCAR recovery coach, he helps residents put together a comprehensive program of recovery for overall wellness. Dave played eight years of professional hockey with the Hartford Whalers, Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins organizations.  He was also a key member and leading goal scorer of the 1984 USA Olympic hockey team. In addition to his work at The Overlook, Dave is COO of Hockey Cares for Kids and runs many anti-bullying and drug awareness and prevention programs. He is the proud father of Tori and Ryan.

Josh Orleans
Josh Orleans

Josh is a Program Manager at The Overlook. He is a CCAR trained recovery coach and works with residents daily to put together recovery plans for a better life without alcohol or drugs.  At a young age, Josh was impacted by the devastating effects of addiction. In his own recovery, Josh has worked hard to create a balanced program and a deep spiritual connection through prayer and meditation.  His greatest passion is to help others in recovery find a new way of life that is fulfilling and meaningful. In his mid 20s, Josh founded and ran his own corporate gift giving service. He is also an ESL certified teacher and taught English in Spain and Chile.  His presence and impact on the program at The Overlook helps guide our mission of helping men strengthen their commitment to recovery and leading a more authentic life.

Robert Grant

Rob's role at The Overlook is multi-faceted. With over a decade of recovery experience, Rob helps clients put together comprehensive, individualized programs of recovery as program manager. Rob is CCAR certified as a trained recovery coach whose knowledge and passion help others to achieve sobriety. Rob's also LADC 2 certified. As an addiction counselor, his experience helps him guide men through the "rocky road" of early recovery. Rob is a Scituate native and raised his family on the south shore. With help from family, friends and fellowship, he hopes to continue his march towards continuous sobriety and to help others on their journey.

Linda S. Garvey-Dickey

Clinical Advisor


Linda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Certified Problem Gambling Specialist and Clinical Advisor for The Overlook.  For over 25 years she has counseled teens, couples, families, and adults in areas of addictions, recovery, co-dependency, low self-esteem, trauma, spiritual discontent, mid-life crisis, grief, loss and relational difficulties. She empowers her clients through a strength-based model of treatment which includes: mindfulness, cognitive/behavioral, psychodynamic, psychoeducational, EMDR, DBT, Expressive Therapy and other modalities as fits the client and the situation. She embraces the Humanistic philosophy which honors the growth potential in all human beings.
